Although coffee does not ‘expire,’ it will eventually go stale. If stored correctly, your coffee should last between 4 and 6 weeks.

To make your coffee last for as long as possible after opening, store your coffee in a cool dark place, in an airtight container.

If you haven’t opened the bag, and want to save it for a later date, it is also possible to store it in the freezer, but only if it is vacuum sealed.

It’s important to vacuum seal the coffee if you choose to freeze it, otherwise it will take on a significant amount of moisture and can take on aromas that are in the freezer.

The same applies to storing your coffee in the fridge.

Coffee can be roasted to be optimised for the specific brew method you intend to use it for.

The main distinction between espresso and filter roasting, is that espresso is generally roasted darker than filter.

Some examples of brew methods that lend themselves better to a filter roasts are pour overs, aeropress, batch brew.

Espresso roasts generally work better for espresso, stovetop, and cold brew.
